The Riondel Commission of Management is looking for a resident(s) who would be willing to act as Riondel’s representative in communications with Alanna Garrett, the Creston-based coordinator of the RDCK’s Emergency Management Program.

The current crisis situation in Fort McMurray has highlighted how important an informed, organized response to disaster can be.

A person(s) volunteering to act as our community’s Emergency Preparedness Liaison(s) would be able to assist in several areas:

Ensuring that relevant communications from Ms. Garrett reach local community members via the internet, local bulletin boards, and local media
Sitting in on meetings with Ms. Garrett and other East Shore representatives involved with the RDCK Emergency Management Program
Updating our local list of contacts & equipment which might need to be accessed in the event of a community-wide emergency

If you are interested in assisting with local activities related to Emergency Management, please call the Commission office at 250-225-3262 or email riocom@bluebell.ca
